The Assistant Accountant, EMEA provides support to the Corporate Accounting Manager, EMEA in performing the day-to-day accounting for the European Corporate office, the rest of the EMEA corporate entities, and the management of other ad hoc projects as they occur.

The Assistant Accountant, EMEA will be responsible for the following:

  • To assist the team to carry out the day-to-day accounting for MOUK
  • To be the primary contact for Accounts Payable function (supplier creation, invoice posting in SUN, correcting coding & approval)
  • Responsible for liaising with local accountants on the allocated EMEA corporate entities, reviewing the monthly/annual financial statements received and submitting onto the group reporting platform
  • To assist the Corporate Accounting Manager, EMEA with the month end group reporting for the EMEA corporate entities within the specified time limits
  • To assist the Corporate Accounting Manager, EMEA in preparing financial reports, budget, forecasts, and other reports for the corporate entities. To ensure these are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits
  • To review credit card & cash expense reports; to ensure that all expenses claimed are in accordance with the MOHG policy, check the receipts, cast the expense reports, accruals)
  • To process the petty cash forms/claims; to ensure they are appropriately coded, check the receipts to the form and ensure the forms cast correctly
  • To assist the team with the monthly rechargeable; to scan supporting documentation on the network in preparation for the month end intercompany debit notes
  • To monitor Roadshow recharges; to monitor the Roadshow balance sheet accounts and maintain copies of the recharges.
  • To prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the corporate entities.
  • Develop and maintain healthy working relationship with Hong Kong office finance colleagues.

What are we looking for?

  • Comfortable with using MS package in particular excel to intermediate level
  • Experience with Sun and Hyperion would be an advantage
  • Good organizational and communication skills, team player
  • Adaptable/ flexible approach and ability to work to tight reporting deadlines
  • At least 1 - 2 years’ experience within accounts/finance environment
  • AAT studier (or QBE) with a desire to pursue accounting qualification
