The Assistant Director of Housekeeping will be responsible for managing the department in leading a team of Housekeeping Supervisors, Room Attendants, Porters. Supporting the whole team to ensure guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained according to Mandarin Oriental standard. Overseeing the Laundry Department ensuring that all Rooms and F&B linen, Guest Clothing and Employee Uniforms are cleaned and organized. Handling guest interactions and requests with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily inspection of all guestrooms, public areas, exterior of building and back house areas, to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness are met.
  • Monitor and support the Supervisors’ daily progress and inspect completed rooms to ensure attention to details
  • Conduct daily briefings and on-the-job training to motivate the team and achieve the highest quality standards.
  • Supervise the housekeeping team in all the tasks and activities.
  • Handle guest complaints and interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodate special requests whenever possible.
  •  
  • Actively support the Dir. of housekeeping in managing expenses and purchase requests to meet departmental budgetary goals.
  • Be responsible for the Housekeeping Department during the Director of Housekeeping absence.
  • Ensure all the Safe & Sound procedures are followed by the colleagues.
  • Perform line level functions in emergency situations.
  • Comply with all MOHG Pillars, Department LQEs and Guiding Principles
  • Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of housekeeping management experience in a luxury hotel department.
  • Confident and fluent in written and verbal Italian and English, the knowledge of other languages is preferred.
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to details
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in Italy.
  • Flexible schedules and working hours, willingness to work on weekends & holidays required.
