We are looking for an Assistant Director of HR/HR Manager to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental Costa, Navarino.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino will be located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport.

The beachfront resort will be part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. As Assistant Director of HR/HR Manager, you will be responsible for the following:   

  • Supporting, developing, implementing, and adhere to corporate & hotel Human Resources policies and procedures 
  • Understanding and assisting in the preparation of the hotel Human Resources Budget and Business Plan 
  • Managing all vacancies and recruitment function, in line with budget requirements, reviewing where necessary in line with operational needs 
  • Providing specialized Human Resources support (coaching, counselling, performance management etc.) to Department Heads and colleagues to achieve the hotel strategic business objectives 
  • Managing all employees’ procedures with regard to starters, transfers, promotions and variations plus leavers 
  • Ensuring that all Human Resources administration procedures are carried out in accordance with hotel and legal requirements 
  • Completing day to day personnel administration in response to requests and action plans 
  • Managing and administrating Disciplinary & Grievance procedures in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources 
  • Managing effective employees’ relations regarding employee welfare, health, hygiene, and safety are maintained 
  • Overseeing the day-to-day HR operations and the workflow of the department .
  • Overseeing payroll.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality 
  • Very good MS Office knowledge and IT skills; 
  • Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline   
  • Discrete, loyal and reliable 
  • Effective time management, communication, and professional presentation skills 
  • Must possess excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills 
  • Approachable, open-minded and fair 
  • Ability to multi-task and balance the priorities of the position 
  • Quality driven with a passion for excellence 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English. Additional foreign language skills are an advantage
