We’re looking for an Assistant Executive Housekeeper to join the pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern.

The iconic Hotel Palace Luzern first opened in 1906 and is located in the heart of the city, on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The multi-million-dollar renovation will include the restyling of all guestrooms and suites, the redesign of the public areas, restaurants and bars as well as the landscaping of the outdoor grounds. Following the completion of the renovation, Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern will comprise 146 rooms and suites offering excellent views of the lake and mountains. There will be a restaurant and a bar together with a variety of social and meeting facilities and a spa and fitness room.

As an Assistant Executive Housekeeper, you will be responsible for providing leadership to the housekeeping supervisors, coordinators, room attendants and houseman and manage and insure the highest level of cleanliness of the hotel rooms and public space to the guests.

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To motivate, train, supervise, evaluate and counsel all Housekeeping colleagues
  • To plan daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly assignments and projects for all Room Attendants, Guest Floor Attendants, Public Area, and Office Coordinators.
  • To perform administrative duties such as, but not limited to, departmental scheduling, payroll, purchase requests and monthly consumption reports.
  • To implement control on department labour costs and minimize costs while ensuring that adequate staffing is available to provide five star services.
  • To schedule walk-through and follow up with all outside contractors.
  • To maintain an ongoing Safe & Sound program.
  • To assume the responsibilities of the Executive Housekeeper during his/her absence.
  • To perform daily inspection of all public areas, guestrooms, exterior of building and back house areas, to ensure that the highest standards are met.
  • To monitor progress, ensure completion of deep cleaning program and assign tasks to housekeeping colleagues.
  • To respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested.  Conduct daily communication meetings.
  • To provide a seamless, efficient and friendly service at all times and ensure a well cleaned, comfortable, well maintained and welcoming environment

What we are looking for:

  • Must have a previous experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality.
  • Effective time management, communication, and professional presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and balance the priorities of the position.
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English.
