We are looking for a Bartender to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, set to open in Summer 2023.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino will be located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport.

The beachfront resort will be part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It will comprise 99 guest rooms, including 48 pool villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with five restaurants and bars.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino will position itself as an exclusive resort hideaway in Greece, providing the best of barefoot luxury art of living.

The Bartender will assist the Head Mixologist to drive the development and maintenance of an innovative and unique beverage program. The smooth running of the service of the designated outlet with service excellence to deliver business objectives and financial success.

The Bartender will be responsible for the following:

  • To perform kind and generous service in always treating both guests and colleagues in a respectful manner while treasuring our colleagues as much as our delightful guests.
  • To attend pre-service briefings for daily updates, ensuring active and regular communication within the team and that all tasks are followed up efficiently prior to guest’s arrival.
  • Ensuring that the opening and closing of the bar is organised. This includes making sure that there is always adequate mise en place, setting up the bar and surrounding seating areas before the guest’s arrival and performing all duties related to the closing of the bar.
  • To follow the set standards and recipes of the beverage offering.
  • To have excellent knowledge of all food and beverage items served within the resort.
  • To prepare and serve all beverages to guests according to required standards in an efficient and friendly manner ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that all steps throughout the sequence of service are thoroughly followed and should there be any gaps or delay, to ask for help in a timely manner, so that the guest experience is not negatively impacted.
  • To understand and operate the POS system.
  • To prepare and present bills accurately.
  • To handle all duties relating to ordering, requisitions and return of unusable beverages, maintaining sufficient stock levels and MEP.
  • To organize the bar and all related paperwork in an efficient manner to ensure successful monthly stock takes. 
  • To ensure the appropriate presentation and cleanliness of the bar.
  • To attend all internal and hotel meetings required according to meetings schedule.
  • Partner with the HR & L&D to ensure all MOHG programs are actively supported and attended by the team.
  • To ensure service and Back of House areas are always kept clean and work is conducted according to the MOHG standards of FLHSS.
  • To report and follow up all maintenance defaults to ensure efficient and professional delivery of service.
  • To perform any other reasonable duties as required by Management.

  • Previous relevant experience.

  • Must be a self-motivator and spread positivity within the team.
  • Must work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
  • Must be able to relate to all levels of Guests and management.
  • Can handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Be able to consistently delight and satisfy our Guest.
  • Very good communication skills are essential.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Local and international food and beverage awareness is a plus.
  • Very good command of spoken English.
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in Greek is a plus.
