CATERING & EVENT SERVICES MANAGER

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Sales & Commerce Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Catering & Event Services Manager is responsible to effectively execute catering and events activities and working closely with banquet operations colleagues to ensure confirmed events are coordinated accordingly and have the events run smoothly. The Catering & Event Services Manager reports to the Director of Commercial Strategy / Director of Catering & Event Services.

As Catering & Event Services Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To constantly monitor the progress of assigned Catering and Event Services Coordinator/Executive and to discuss with the person concerned and the Director of Catering and Event Services action plans for improvement

  • To organize and coordinate inspections, when required, to ensure that all programmes are handled professionally

  • To liaise with clients on their requirements when a confirmed lead has been handed over

  • To ensure that event orders and other important documentation are prepared in a meticulous detail and presented in the most professional manner

  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Mandarin Oriental policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position

 

As Catering & Event Services Manager, we expect from you: 

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management

  • Minimum 5 years of hotel experience

  • Experience in relevant market segment is essential

  • Strong business communication and selling skills
