Mandarin Oriental is seeking a China Digital Specialist to develop and implement localised strategies to drive a significant increase in direct revenue from the Chinese market. These strategies will include the implementation of local campaign-based performance marketing as well as ongoing, comprehensive optimisation of the platform. The role will also support & coordinate hotel stakeholders, to ensure booking direct provides the best option for the Chinese guest – be that via our brand website, or our branded WeChat & Fliggy stores. The role will ensure that MOHG are “first to market” in terms of enhancements, ensuring we outperform the comp set. The China Digital Specialist will be cognisant of the latest tech innovations and trends, ensuring MOHG remain well-placed to innovate within the China market. The individual will have exceptional marketing, problem-solving and communications skills and is naturally creative, pragmatic, and collaborative. As well as utilising digital best practice to inform web strategy, the China Digital Specialist will incorporate CRM data to improve customer flow & generate increased revenue.    


  • eCommerce: Possess a strong knowledge of the Chinese Digital landscape including web optimisation, performance marketing activities, digital platform operation (e.g. Fliggy, WeChat), and localised tactics/strategies.
  • Enhance the Chinese customer experience to drive an increase in revenue generation from rooms/packages, as well as auxiliary products such as F&B, Spa and branded products. Support the operation of the MOHG “Fans of M.O” programme in China and adapt to suit local guest requirements.
  • Engagement: Provide regular updates on digital operations in China inclusive of industry news, trends, issues and best practices to engage and inform wider stakeholder base. Source buy-in from senior stakeholders to progress MOHG digital operations in China.
  • In addition to supporting Chinese hotels domestically, support global MOHG operations via the growth of China as a source market (e.g outbound Chinese travel into APAC & beyond).
  • Work cross-departmentally to fully localise and optimise MOHG digital strategies in China and analyse where there is room for improvement.
  • Cultivate standards, systems and best practice for content creation, distribution, maintenance, and new product listings.
  • Reporting: analyse performance and provide accurate reporting, forecasting & insight.
  • Vendor Management: work with partner vendors and local agency team to continuously improve MOHG digital operations in China.
  • Ambassador: Be an ambassador for Mandarin Oriental’s customer-first approach



  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience of operating digital strategies in China, including exposure to website optimisation, performance marketing planning and campaign operation.
  • Comprehensive experience of both WeChat & Fliggy platforms, including demonstrable experience of optimisation across both platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, charts and statistics
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of managing performance marketing budgets.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with an ability to think outside of the box.
  • Comfort working in an agile and constantly evolving environment.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English
