The Hotel:

Main responsabilities:

The role of a beautician is to provide expert personal care services to clients with regard to skin, hair and nails. He or she helps not only with the application of treatments but also with advising and recommending appropriate services via client consultations. Many in this position will specialise in a specific area, such as makeup or nails, whilst those focusing on hair often go by the title of hairdresser. 

This position requires robust communication skills, creative flair, excellent eye-hand coordination and the ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure. Proper training is essential; many individuals begin via apprenticeship positions and certification is available through numerous beauty colleges.

A Beautician usually performs many of the following tasks: 
• Giving clients manicure and pedicures 
• Conducting facials and massages 
• Doing electro therapy treatments 
• Making and cancelling appointments 
• Working in the reception area 
• Listening to and advising clients

    • Being able to stand for long periods of time

    • Being diplomatic and convincing 
    • Being discreet and honest 
    • Being respectful and friendly 
    • Creativity and inventiveness

    • Manicures, pedicures, massages and facials 
    • Understanding of human anatomy
