We are looking for a Director of Housekeeping to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental Costa, Navarino.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino will be located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport.

The beachfront resort will be part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It will comprise 99 guest rooms, including 48 pool villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with five restaurants and bars.

The Director of Housekeeping will take full responsibility for all aspects of housekeeping for the hotel (except for Stewarding areas) having integrated restaurants, kids facilities, sports areas, bar, pool, beach and banquet facilities to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and attractiveness. The position will also require to manage the resort linen, terry for Rooms, Spa and F&B as well as uniforms and cleaning of guest clothing and garments. Managing housekeeping team which includes Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Floor Supervisors, Office Coordinators, AM & PM Room Attendants, House Attendants, Overnight Cleaners, Valet and Seamstresses. Be pro-active, creative and results driven.  This position provides direction and leadership to the Housekeeping and Laundry teams to meet and exceed guest experiences and satisfaction and maximize revenue opportunities; cost efficiencies and guest satisfaction levels to the standards set by the Group.

The Director of Housekeeping reports directly to the Resort Manager. The position of will oversee the Housekeeping team and Laundry

The Director of Housekeeping will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring smooth running of the Guest Experience and Rooms Front of House operations and maintain standards:
  • Establishing standards and procedures to maintain hotel at luxury level and incorporates changes in the Manuals
  • Inspecting and evaluating premises daily, weekly and monthly. Recommending needed repairs and refurbishing
  • Purchasing operational supplies as linens, amenities, cleaning supplies
  • Managing external contractors, especially on cleaning, linen & terry cleaning, uniforms and guest clothing and pest control.
  • Supervising the function of all Housekeeping and Laundry employees, facilities and financial performance to ensure maximum departmental cost efficiency is achieved.
  • Controlling and analysing, on an on-going basis, in order to optimise the following:
    • Quality levels of products and service
    • Guest Satisfaction
    • Quality Measurements (such as LQE & MO Pillars)
    • Financial Performance
    • Hygiene and cleanliness
  • Identifying Guest Experience and Rooms technology trends that might be suitable and appropriate for the operation

What are we looking for?

  • Resort experience preferred.
  • Must be highly numerate and able to work comprehensively with spreadsheets and budgeting packages.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English. Greek is preferred.
