As a Director of Rooms, you will lead all aspects of the hotel’s daily Rooms operation. You will have high professional standards coupled with a strong emotional intelligence.

The Director of Rooms will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To direct the operation of the laundry, the front office, the transportation, the Housekeeping and the Butler service.
  • To formulate and implement the Rooms strategy related to the hotel’s daily operational needs ensuring consistent guest services, colleague productivity, and safety while constantly striving for improvement.
  • To develop of the rooms team through coaching, mentoring and general communications.
  • To keep abreast of newest trends and innovations in the marketplace and be aware of competitors.
  • To lead the rooms division regarding the flower decorations, function sheets, inventories and purchase orders to ensure the availability of stock as well lead the housekeeping division with regards to the general cleaning plan and the maintenance activities relating to the guestrooms and public areas.
  • To assist in preparation of departmental budgets and forecasts weekly and quarterly (every 3 months) as per accounting requirements
  • To carry out responsibilities of the “Manager-On-Duty” as per the schedule issued by the Executive Office.
  • To ensure proper front office procedures to include, check-in, concierge service, information, message handling, telephone operation, business centre operation, airport representative and transportation, Butler service, and hotel Valet Parking/Washing etc. as per the established SOPs and also compile and maintain detailed guest profiles including addresses etc.
  • To evaluate constantly the staffing guide and plans the staff requirements to suit the operational requirements.
  • To prepare the colleague performance evaluations and contract renewals formalities for sub department heads and colleagues and submit to the Hotel Manager or General Manager/Managing Director as per schedules.
  • To provide professional advisory and executive support to the Hotel Manager.

What we are looking for?

  • Extensive Rooms Experience in Hospitality operations within a luxury setting. Ideally Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management.
  • Experience in Luxury Hotels is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken in English and Arabic.
  • Effective management, leadership, organizational and communications skills.
  • Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spread sheets and complex technical information.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in various hotel systems and advanced proficiency in Excel.
