We’re looking for a Director of Sales to join the pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern.

The iconic Hotel Palace Luzern first opened in 1906 and is located in the heart of the city, on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The multi-million-dollar renovation will include the restyling of all guestrooms and suites, the redesign of the public areas, restaurants and bars as well as the landscaping of the outdoor grounds. Following the completion of the renovation, Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern will comprise 146 rooms and suites offering excellent views of the lake and mountains. There will be a restaurant and a bar together with a variety of social and meeting facilities and a spa and fitness room.

The Director of Sales will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To implement, together with the Director of Commercial Strategy, the agreed rate structure and strategy for all market segments.
  • To direct all sales activities for sales managers and ensure that they meet the goals of the marketing plan and preparation of the necessary documentation.
  • To analyse and review market changes and implement programs with the sales team to meet these changes.
  • To maintain close relationships with all key decision-makers both in local and international markets.
  • To conduct wholesale and corporate negotiations and finalize contracts with tour operators, agents and corporate accounts in his/her respective markets.
  • To work closely with the Regional Sales Offices to ensure that the measurable results targets are achieved.
  • To analyse and evaluate client production with sales managers and implement sales action plans.
  • To attend selected fairs, roadshows and workshops
  • To keep up to date with progress of all projects in the city to ensure capture of all potential business

What we are looking for:

  • Must have a previous experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality,
  • Effective time management, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English.
  • Mature and outgoing with excellent interpersonal skills for both external and internal customers
  • Strong business acumen with ability to analyse financial statements, revenue reports and market data
