We are currently looking for a Finance Manager to join our Finance leadership team here at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London.

About the role

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To supervise directly the Income Audit team and the Accounts Payable team.
  • To manage the day-to-day operation in the Finance office.
  • To liaise with the Finance Supervisors to ensure the correct running of the department relevant to timekeeping, absenteeism, overtime, holidays, lieu days and work schedules for staff.
  • To ensure the Management Accounts are completed within the time laid down by Group HO and passed to the Assistant DOF for revision.  The final draft to be produced by the end of the 2nd working day.
  • To produce and transmit of all Head Office 'Requested' Reports & Statistics within the timetable laid down by Head Office.
  • To complete monthly reconciliations together with the Assistant DOF.
  • To control all Intercompany billing ensuring that charges are signed off by the appropriate HOD and coded in accordance with budget.
  • To assist the DOF to control and monitor Capital Expenditure ensuring projects do not go overspent. This includes a strong emphasis on any Special Project implemented at the hotel and includes a strong collaboration with Project teams involved.
  • To prepare and turnover all month end report files in readiness for end of month reporting.
  • To update the Forecast/Budget file on a monthly basis with the current month’s actual results.
  • To familiarise him/herself with the MOHG Finance Policy & Procedures and Internal Audit checklist and ensure that these are strictly followed by all areas of the hotel and the department.
  • To oversee the deposit of surplus funds on overnight interest account.
  • To assist the Assistant Director of Finance and the DOF with the departments training: Health & Safety, LQE’, On Job Training etc. To carry out departmental induction as and when required.
  • To assist the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the dept. filing System for contracts, banking, insurance etc.
  • To assist the Assistant DOF in maintaining a sound and efficient accounting department.
  • To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested by the Assistant DOF or the Director of Finance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance professional looking to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Finance Manager role and hold professional qualifications. Previous hotel experience is also advantageous. You will also possess a methodical approach to working, hold excellent attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines and manage work through processes and people.
