The Hotel

Overview

The Food Runner maintains all dining room environment and equipment clean and tidy, assists server, anticipates guests’ needs and addresses them accordingly. A key aspect being the delivery of ordered menu items in a timely manner in order to totally delight our patrons. The Food Runner will be reporting to the Director of Outlets.

Essential Functions

  • Support company's philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
  • Support company's philosophy and company culture through the use of Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
  • Support company's philosophy and company culture through the use of Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T as part of ensuring Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
  • Provide excellent service at all times to all of our guests
  • Setting and maintaining the dining room environment and material perfectly clean.
  • Delivering food to the guests and beverages
  • Serving and assisting the guest courteously and efficiently.
  • To have excellent knowledge of all menu items, including but not limited to wine and beverage lists, and also communicating this knowledge to the guest in an enthusiastic and professional manner
  • Maintain the dining room and station clean at all the times
  • Handle customer requests in a timely manner
  • Make sure that all silver and glasses are wiped and spotless
  • Make sure that all delivered plates are wiped and spotless
  • Follow the cleaning program for the restaurant established in the side work sheet
  • Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything
  • Attend all food and beverage training classes when requested to.
  • To wish each and every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming
  • Place all to go food in appropriate containers
  • Responsible for keeping the dining room floors free of debris and spilled liquids.
  • Reset station and section after each shift.
  • Following the posted opening and closing duties and side work sheet
  • Attend daily pre meal/communication meeting
  • Attend monthly department meeting
  • Generate a good atmosphere

 

Education and Experience

  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays.
  • Be a self-motivator and motivator of others
  • Work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
  • Must be able to relate to all levels of Guests and management.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of food and preparation
  • Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an upscale restaurant in a similar position
  • Have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Have excellent communication and organization skills
  • Be able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest
  • Have the ability to handle guest requests in a detailed manner
  • Have the ability to walk back and forth for a minimum of 4 hours
