It is the mission and intent of this position that the incumbent will keep the guest’s perspective in mind at all times and carry out the mission of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

Generate rooms business from existing and potential Corporate accounts and travel agent accounts, coordinating customer requirements with other departments in order to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and profitability for the hotel. 

The Sales Manager reports directly to the Director of Commerce.  


Major responsibilities:


  • Seek and contact new potential commercial accounts through direct enquiries, sales leads and sales blitz follow up.
  • Responsible for group room night and revenue production from allocated accounts.
  • Update all Delphi Sales and Catering account and contact profiles to maintain a proper profile of all corporate accounts.
  • Attend daily sales briefings, weekly sales meetings and bi-weekly business development meeting.
  • Follow up on all sales leads.
  • Participate in familiarisation visits and entertain as and when required.
  • Conduct on site inspections for potential clients and existing clients
  • Participate in any projects as and when assigned by the direct superior.
  • Monitor current market trends and supply competitor activity information to DOM.
  • Participate in overseas sales trips and, when required, complete all sales reports within one week of the trip.
  • Distribute seasonal gifts to clients.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head.
  • Coordinate closely with and provide detailed information to the Banquet operations in order to enable the operations to service the client effectively while the event/group is in-house.
  • Remain updated on catering menus, set-ups, services, capacities and product knowledge
  • Focus on forward selling and maximization of available space more than six months out in order to achieve high yield room business.
  • Develop a strong repeat business base and constantly source for new business.
  • Promptly share leads on corporate FIT and travel trade business with relevant members of the Corporate & Travel sales team.
  • Provide feedback on relevant trends, competitor pricing, creative concepts and any other information that will contribute toward the achievement of our financial objectives




  • Minimum two years experience in a luxury hotel on same position

  • Acknowledge of top accounts per segment and who is who
  • To liaise with operations to arrange guest’s stay
  • Catalan and other languages
