We have an exciting opportunity for a Head Chef to lead the Kitchen brigade at one of London’s hottest openings on 2022, The Aubrey.

The Aubrey is a home-away-from home for local and global guests alike, this new concept is a collaboration between Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London with Hong Kong-based group, Maximal Concepts. Designed as a bar & Japanese izakaya, the venue has 132 seats and one private dining room. The dining experience is created as an ode to high quality Japanese ingredients and traditional cooking techniques. Our menus features classic dishes from Japanese cuisine, and interpretations that adapt and change with the seasons.

We are looking for a creative and passionate Head Chef to deliver the ultimate elevated culinary experience for our team and guests alike. You will have a love for Japanese cuisine and techniques and will be looking for a kitchen that challenges you. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in a senior role within a past-paced kitchen, you will have previous experience leading a team, along with positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. We are looking for a Head Chef who is flexible, has a passion for cooking and can showcase exceptional service standards. About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef who will be able to delight our guests. You will have experience with Japanese cooking, including being able to create and prepare all types of sushi including maki, nigiri and sashimi, handling a wide range of raw fish and the freshest ingredients. Previous experience with Robata and Grill is also required. You will be precise and immaculate, have a desire to innovate and be creative. To be successful in this role, you will be a great team leader and work well with the other chefs, taking care of all duties whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism, and be available to work during our opening hours.
