Responsibilities:

  • To provide professional advisory and executive support to the General Manager and deputise in their absence.
  • To formulate and implement the strategy related to the hotel’s daily operational needs ensuring consistent guest services, colleague productivity, and safety while constantly striving for improvement.
  • To keep abreast of newest trends and innovations in the marketplace and be aware of competitors.
  • To prepare, review and manage annual Budgets and CAPEX plans; analyse P&L and assist in implementing strategies to increase both rooms yield and revpar to ensure overall revenue maximisation.
  • To ensure there is a continuous focus and drive on all quality assessments, supporting local quality initiatives.
  • To orchestrate and direct the annual Safe & Sound Audit conducted by third parties engaged by the Emirates Palace.
  • To chair the monthly Risk Management Committee meetings ensuring full compliance by all Departments. 
  • To grow and improve our sustainability, as measured by the Fire Life Health Safety and Security Environment (FLHSSE) measures.
  • To ensure that guests and colleagues are in a consistently safe and secure environment.
  • To support the Director of Finance in the preparation and implementation of the budget.
  • To drive revenue and expense rationalization initiatives in all operational areas.
  • To support the General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing in the Development of Marketing Strategies for the Hotel.
  • To work with the Sales team to ensure a constant source of feedback and to improve the veracity and consistency of service.
  • To be part of the Event Management process and to ensure that the various platforms of marketing and public relations activities are provided for execution as and where the operational interface is required.
  • To support the Director of Human Resources in the following in the Human Resource Strategy for recruitment and selection of colleagues.
  • To act as the mentor and coach for the new and mid level Managers, actively engaging them in projects and learning initiatives. Hotel Manager will ensure that appraisals and feedback sessions are regularly done.

Skills Requirement:

  • Extensive Hotel Experience within Hospitality operations within a luxury setting. Ideally Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management.
  • Effective management, leadership, organizational and communications skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken. Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spreadsheets, and complex technical information.
  • Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems and advanced proficiency in Excel
