It is the mission and intent of this position that the incumbent will assist the Human Resources team in the day-to-day administrative duties of the Human Resources Department.

Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative support to the entire Human Resources team
  • Champion the HRIS and Compliance areas of HR.
  • Assist in both the On-Boarding and Orientation of all new hires.
  • Work in collaboration with the Human Resources team to promote the Colleague Experience.
  • Ensure all status change paperwork and checklists are properly completed and followed up on (new hires, terminations, etc).
  • Conduct weekly filing of all finalized PAFs, discipline records, and colleague personal information for exempt and non-exempt personnel.
  • Assist with documenting, tracking and following up on workplace incident reports.
  • Prepare letters of employment verification as required; provide verbal verification and VOE as requested.
  • Champion Internal Communication to our colleagues inclusive of: bulletin boards, posters, flyers, newsletters, etc.
  • Issue lockers to colleagues; maintain locker spread sheet; organize & administer quarterly locker fumigation.
  • Answer telephones, send faxes and correspondence, sort and distribute mail.
  • Assist with purchasing of necessary Human Resources materials.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of information throughout the hotel.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other departments.
  • Set an example for all colleagues to emulate by complying with all hotel policies and procedures.
  • Support Company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission statement.
  • Perform a variety of other duties as assigned and responsibilities as requested.


Education and Experience


  • Possess solid working knowledge of local state and federal labor guidelines and laws including, but limited to: FMLA, FLSA, Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment regulations.
  • Prior experience with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, correspondence, record maintenance.
  • Must be able to handle competing priorities and interact with all levels of the organization in a composed, courteous manner.
  • Able to multi-task with ease and work under pressure with grace while meeting deadlines on time or early.
  • Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Superior computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule that will (at times) include early mornings, weekends and evenings.



  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as an HR Professional (preferably experience as a Coordinator or Generalist).
  • Experience in luxury Hospitality strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Washington, DC market/laws strongly preferred.
