For some hotels, a cheerful smile and polite tone might be enough to be a Junior Concierge. For us, being the face of our hotel calls for much more. 

First and foremost, being a Junior Concierge is about emotional intelligence. We need people who can read our guests in the blink of an eye: are they excited and ready to talk? Or tired from their flight and looking for calm?

Of course, it’s also about how you present yourself. We’re looking for a Concierge who can wear our fan pin with pride. And finally, it’s about pulling together, because a great deal of teamwork goes into creating the perfect stay. For example, if a guest mentions an early start, our whole team can come together to make that easier for them – a well-timed wake up call, a luxury car ready and waiting.

It’s a finely tuned orchestra, made up of exceptional soloists.

About the role

As Junior Concierge, you will be responsible for ensuring complete guest satisfaction during their experience at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. You will perform the supervision of the Concierge Department in the absence of the Head Concierge/Assistant Concierge, ensuring a consistent delivery of high levels of service according to our standards and guest expectations. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • To give and receive handovers from shift to shift in order to ensure consistent update of information
  • To ensure the safe keeping of pass keys
  • To be knowledgeable of all selling opportunities within the hotel
  • To demonstrate a refine knowledge of the city and its surroundings in order to enhance the guest experience.
  • To maintain the information data base for the Concierge for a coherent level of service
  • To handle all guest inquiries
  • To confirm every tasks completed to the guest.
  • To send confirmation letter of next day task to the guest as to insure a good communication between the Concierge and the guest.
  • To receive and send facsimiles, mail, packages on behalf of our guests in a prompt and efficient manner
