Scope Of Position

To be responsible for efficiently carrying out maintenance, repair and replacement work assigned by the chief engineer and to the standards required, ensuring that engineering principles and safety procedures are adhered to.


Duties and Responsibilities

The Kitchen Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • To be responsible for reporting any discrepancies unsolved problems and newly observed engineering problems to the supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Experience within commercial kitchens servicing field and Gas certification required.
  • To be responsible for obtaining all necessary information, documentation, and instruction to ensure that effective, efficient work may be performed.
  • To be responsible for returning all unused (new and old) parts to the engineering store or to the Shift Engineer.
  • To be responsible for the safe storage of both personal and borrowed tools. 
  • To be responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of all areas where work is performed.
  • To be responsible whilst working in public area; to be well groomed, wearing a clean uniform and to behave diligently, honestly, and politely to guests.
  • To be responsible for adhering to all safety practices, procedures, rules, and regulation of the hotel and of the engineering recognised best practices.
  • Carry out PPM to all kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, gas equipment, induction equipment, wash ware, combinational ovens, mixers, Bain marries.  
  • To work, at times, on night shift to complete any ppm’s or reactive maintenance.

Experience and qualifications

  • Applicant must have gas certification qualification.
  • Proven experience for at least 3 years in this role.
  • Have a good understanding working with electricity but not essential.
  • Able to demonstrates co-operation and trust with colleagues in his/her own team and across departments and works well as a team player to achieve results.
  • Speaking, writing, and reading English and Greek language.


Health And Safety

  • To be aware of, and comply with, safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety Local code and Company H & S Manual, as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace
  • To be aware of and comply with Food Acts.
  • To wear any appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Resort.
  • To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to the Resort procedures.
  • To ensure any accidents to colleagues, guests or visitors are reported in accordance with Resort procedures.
  • To attend 6 monthly statutory fire training and to be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning, fire, health & safety.
  • To attend any training deemed appropriate by your Head of Department.
  • Any other reasonable request as required by your manager appropriate for this position and to comply with all the MOHG policies and procedures.
