Responsibilities

  • It is part of your role to understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
  • MOHG Code of Conduct requires that all business activities and business decisions comply with the general law, with all rules, regulations, and other requirements.
  • It is part of your role and your responsibility to fully support all learning and development activities.
  • You shall take all reasonable steps to safeguard stored information, and not divulge or otherwise transfer any personal data concerning the guests, customers or colleagues, or any confidential information concerning the hotel unless with the appropriate authority.
  • Use of the hotel’s network, computers or internet access which is in the hotel’s view unreasonable or inappropriate, for example gambling, chatroom, or pornographic material, is a serious breach of hotel policy and grounds for summary dismissal.
  • Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
  • Ensure compliance with the MOHG Social Media Policy, i.e. to be fully responsible for the content you publish on any social media platform, including your personal site.

  • To carry out any additional duties requested by management, related to hotel operational activities.
  • Collect any guest laundry as requested
  • Log and keep track of any incoming laundry items
  • Answer laundry telephone as per standard
  • Check and inspect the guest laundry for proper cleaning and treatment of the garments
  • Wash, dry clean and press the guest laundry as per Mandarin Oriental, Jumeira Dubai standards
  • Be able to operate different laundry machinery confidently
  • Know how to identify and treat different fabric materials
  • Package and deliver guest laundry to the rooms as per Mandarin Oriental, Jumeira Dubai standards
  • Wash and press colleague uniforms as per care instructions
  • Sort and collect soiled uniform items of colleagues
  • Place and sort clean uniform items of colleagues onto the uniform conveyor belt
  • Assist during linen inventory
  • Ensure to keep laundry area tidy and clean at all time
  • Keep track of F&B linen exchange
  • Spot check on incoming linen and soiled linen from F&B for any damages, items, etc.
  • Be attentive and willing to help guests and colleagues whenever needed
  • Make sure that all laundry log sheets are filed and maintained in a structured and organised way
  • Support the Public Area Team or Rooms Team whenever necessary
  • Hand out and collect colleague’s uniforms during peak operation hours
  • Repair and issue uniforms for colleagues
  • Respond to guest questions and needs professionally, timely and with a smile
  • Handle guest complaints in a polite and professional manner
  • Take ownership of any guest complaints
  • Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested
  • Follow all MOQA, LQE, LQA, Forbes & FLHSS&E standards at all times

 

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Senior High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational Diploma in Hospitality related subject is an advantage.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a luxury hotel environment.
  • A minimum of 1 year Housekeeping experience in luxury hotels
  • Middle East experience is an advantage.
  • Prior experience with HotSOS is an advantage.
  • Clear communication; effective verbal and written communication skills in English is required.
  • Ability to plan and organize large projects.
  • Perform job with attention to details and the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Physical capabilities to stand for a long period of time.
  • Flexibility to work overnight as required.
