  • Duties & Responsibilities

    General Duties for Management Trainee Programme

    • To attend daily briefings, weekly and monthly spa meetings.
    • Assist in three projects in either: operations, marketing, finance and retail during their tenure as a spa management trainee.
    • To attend all training courses as outlined in the programme
    • Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the position, or assigned by the Spa Director or Spa Operations Manager
    • Perform all daily assigned tasks.

     

    Spa Attendant

    • Will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the spa including: reception, retail area, heat and water areas, changing facilities, showers, toilets, relaxation areas, fitness and wellness centre and pool.  
    • All areas to be kept in a neat, tidy and sanitary manner in accordance with the SOPs and Health and Safety Standards
    • To assist in the smooth flow of the guest journey throughout the day
    • Aid therapists in setting up for treatments and clearing away after
    • Ensure lockers are stocked with clean linen always and remove soiled linen
    • Follow all SOP’s as taught by Spa Operations Supervisor
    • To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa
    • Report dysfunctional equipment to MOD
    • Maintain the inventory of supplies for the operations of the spa
    • To perform all daily assigned spa attendant tasks including opening and closing procedures

    Fitness and Wellness

    • Set up of fitness and wellness centre and ensure all standards are maintained throughout the day
    • Assist with cleaning of pool area outside of operating hours and ensure all standards are maintained throughout the day
    • To attend to guests in waiting areas, fitness centre and pool
    • Report dysfunctional equipment to MOD
    • To perform all daily assigned Fitness and Wellness tasks including opening and closing procedures
    • Follow SOP’s as taught Fitness and Wellness Supervisor/Manager

     

    Spa Concierge

    • To ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa
    • Assist in the operations of all spa departments as required:

    Spa Reception

    Spa Retail Area

    • To assist in the monthly count of inventory for retail product lines
    • To have high level telephone skills and follow all standards
    • Process incoming and outgoing packages
    • Oversees incoming and outgoing guest and spa colleague business-related emails.
    • To show a professional attitude always, particularly about punctuality, appearance and general manner
    • Ensure that the reception area is tidy, clean and stocked always
    • Print confirmation letters and prepare Lifestyle Consultation Forms for the next business day
    • Follow SOP’s as taught by Operations Supervisor/Manager
    • To communicate all messages promptly and to keep the Manager-On-Duty informed as to any complaints
    • To organise appointment scheduling to maximize use of time and profitability whilst ensuring that the guests needs are of primary importance
    • To assist in the smooth flow of the guest’s journey throughout the day
    • Must be a team player and assist all spa and hotel colleagues where necessary
    • Perform opening and closing duties
    • Can courteously interact and answer all spa and hotel related questions with guests
    • Good telephone skills and follow MOHG telephone etiquette
    • Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude and conduct all duties and responsibilities as required by the Spa Concierge position, or assigned by the Spa Operations Manager/Spa Director
    • Ensure a warm friendly welcome to all guests always. Greets all guests upon their arrival, gives new guests tours of property and offers return guests "re-orientations". Courtesy to guests and other members of staff always
    • To have a thorough understanding of Spa Soft, all treatments offered in the spa and all retail products
    • Prepare gift certificates and make pre-payment arrangements
    • To perform all daily assigned Spa Concierge Tasks

     

    Spa Therapist

    • Maintain cleanliness and attention to detail in spa treatment rooms, spa suites and preparation room
    • Assist spa therapists in the set- up of spa treatment rooms and suites
    • Follow SOP’s as taught by Treatment Supervisor/Manager            
    • Report dysfunctional equipment to Treatment Supervisor/Manager
    • To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the treatment rooms

     

    Sales and Marketing

    • Assist in various demonstrations and events
    • To recognize the importance of "sales" in every aspect of their role and be responsible for achieving sales targets as set by the Spa Director

     

    Health and Safety

    • Responsible for administrative procedures assigned to the position to ensure that the spa is run professionally and in accordance with Health and Safety policies

    Guest Interaction

    • Will greet each guest with a smile and acknowledge guest even in passing
    • Will proactively aid all spa guests when necessary
    • Ensure a warm friendly welcome to all guests always
    • Greets all guests upon their arrival, providing new guests tours of property and offer return guests "re-orientations". Courtesy to guests and other members of staff always

     

    Educational Background

    • Bachelor degree in Hospitality 
    • 6 months internship experience (preferably in relevant industry)
    • Proficiency in English and ideally 1 additional language
    • Leadership qualities + involvement in extra-curricular activities/student societies 

     

    Additional Technical Competencies

    • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
    • Willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks
    • Self-motivated
    • Knowledge of specific spa industry applications is desirable, such as spa soft
    • Commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures as they relate to the Spa and hotel
    • Knowledge of holistic concepts that relate to the wellbeing of all guests in a spa environment
    • Open to learning about treatments and concepts that derive from other cultures.
    • Set a standard always in professionalism, appearance and attitude as expected of all spa colleagues
    • Consistently strive for a higher level of achievement both personally and professionally
