We are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to join our pre-opening team at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, set to open in Spring 2023.

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino is located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport. The beachfront resort will be part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It will comprise 99 guest rooms, including 48 pool villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with five restaurants and bars.

As the Marketing Manager, you will oversee and lead all marketing & communication efforts in the resort working alongside the Director of Commercial Strategy. You will drive the planning and execution of the resort marketing & communications, and activity by supporting the Revenue management team, Sales, Catering and Events, eCommerce and Public Relations teams. F&B & Spa activities will be shared responsibilities with the Director of F&B, Spa Manager and General Manager.

During the pre-opening and opening of the resort, you will be responsible for identifying the key market “persona”, identify clear USP’s that will differentiate with the resort, and position the resort as one of the top destinations resorts in the world by implementing effective marketing and communications campaigns. Furthermore, you will be responsible to create and promote on-brand messaging to customers through various channels with the goal of enhancing the image of the hotel, driving consumer awareness, increasing market share, and building brand awareness. This will take place by a clear use of data from digital and non-digital channels to understand effectiveness of campaigns, new markets to focus, and continuous communication via digital and non-digital channels with customers. You will also identify both international and local market opportunities and formulate and implement appropriate sales, marketing and communications strategies to maximise revenues in rooms, catering & meetings and to drive awareness, exposure and coverage of the hotel in both local and international media.

The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Development and execution of the hotel’s strategic and integrated marketing communication plan which include public relations, social strategy, and communications across all channels that support the resorts business objectives, elevate hotel visibility and positive perception of the hotel in the local community and key source markets, its F&B operations, and all other revenue generation areas.
  • Develop and deploy a creative and effective content strategy across all marketing touchpoints including owned and earned channels.
  • Establish relationships with local, regional and international media and influencers through active engagement, media/press trips, story pitching and third-party collaboration.
  • Manage the hotel’s digital content strategy and working closely with The Director of Commercial Strategy on the hotel’s overall digital marketing strategy to drive social media followers’ growth, engagement rate and ecommerce revenue.
  • Monitor and provide market insights with strong knowledge in the market conditions including trends and shifts, competition’s social media and marketing communications activities.
  • Develop and disseminate media statements, ensure all crisis communications protocols are updated and ready for use in response to an issue or crisis at the hotel or the city.
  • Partner and collaborate with Revenue management, F&B and Spa to develop annual promotional and marketing activities calendar to optimize revenue.
  • Manage Corporate appointed agencies relationships, as brand guardian.
  • Support copy writing and all guest facing marketing materials.
  • Spearhead the hotel’s community relations, CSR activities, brand marketing partnership and the hotel’s overall award acquisition strategy.
  • Analyse, report and optimize marketing channel to understand and improve key customer engagement and acquisition metrics and communicate with all stakeholders on key business metrics, progress, and issues to ensure alignment and high visibility, allowing timely involvement from the stakeholders when required.

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in luxury hotel or similar environment.
  • Proven track record in delivering high quality marketing communications and editorial coverage.
  • Ability to curate contents or events, develop story angles and strong story pitching.
  • Strong Leadership, proactive and creative with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Excellent project management, results driven and budgetary control.
  • Strong relationships with media, community, and business contacts.
  • Strong command of both written and spoken English, and proficiency in Greek.
