Scope Of Position

  • To be responsible for efficiently carrying out maintenance, repair and replacement work assigned by the Chief Engineer and to the standards required, ensuring that engineering principles and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • To work closely with the Chief Engineer, Shift Engineer, and other trades to carry out all duties assigned in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as to the operation schedule. 
  • To specify and obtain all necessary parts through the proscribed procedure and seeking any other required assistance within the engineering department to fulfil duties.


Duties and Responsibilities

 The Mechanical Plant Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • To be responsible for and carry out all plant PPMs,
  • Maintain, develop, and enhance the PPM schedule for all plant equipment within the hotel.
  • To assist and support the shift engineers on any mechanical plumbing problems that may arise. 
  • To be responsible for reporting any discrepancies unsolved problems and newly observed engineering problems to the supervisor and Chief Engineer as soon as possible.
  • To be responsible for obtaining all necessary information, documentation, and instruction to ensure that effective, efficient work may be performed, and organising this in a readily referenced manner.
  • To be responsible for the safe storage of both personal and borrowed tools. 
  • To be responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of all areas where work is performed. 

 Direct Arear of responsibilities will include:

  • Boiler room and plantroom machinery
  • Chilled water chillers
  • Air handling units
  • Fan coils units
  • Split air conditioners
  • Supply and exhaust fans
  • Pumps
  • Pressurisation units
  • Kitchen production equipment
  • Kitchen dishwashing equipment
  • Laundry equipment
  • Sanitary services.
  • Booster pump systems
  • Water conditioning and disinfecting system
  • Spa and swimming pool equipment and miscellaneous equipment’s (steamer, sauna heater).


Experience and qualifications

  • Applicant must have a degree or diploma on Mechanical field.
  • Proven experience for at least 3 years in this role.
  • Have a good understanding working with electricity but not essential.
  • Speaking, writing, and reading English and Greek language.


Health And Safety

  • To be aware of, and comply with, safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety Local code and Company H & S Manual, as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your workplace
  • To be aware of and comply with Food Acts.
  • To wear any appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Resort.
  • To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to the Resort procedures.
  • To ensure any accidents to colleagues, guests or visitors are reported in accordance with Resort procedures.
  • To attend 6 monthly statutory fire training and to be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning, fire, health & safety.
  • To attend any training deemed appropriate by your Head of Department.
  • Any other reasonable request as required by your manager appropriate for this position and to comply with all the MOHG policies and procedures.
