Our Hotel

With 326 guest rooms and 31 suites, Mandarin Oriental, Miami is in Brickell Key and is a prime location for both business and leisure guests.  It is an urban resort with Miami’s only private beach.

Overview of Position

We are looking for a Director of Bar Operations for MOBar + Lounge. Incumbent should have prior management experience in a luxury bar setting. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of MOBar; enforcing sanitary practices for food handling; investigating and resolving guest complaints relating to service and food quality; managing proper staffing levels according to Carpedia; overseeing training and development of line level colleagues; coaching and counseling; administrative duties such as payroll and scheduling; attending relevant F&B and hotel meetings; and supporting the Director of Food & Beverage as needed.

Experience with 7 Rooms, Time Saver, Infogenesis, and MS Office products is preferable. Certification in TIPs is a plus.  Incumbent should have strong verbal and written communication skills. A flexible AM/PM schedule is required, including weekends and holidays.  This is a full-time position only.

The Director of Bar Operations will report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the similar position, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Flexible schedule is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Have excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation. 
  • Must be detailed oriented, excellent computer skills necessary.
  • Have a pleasant, friendly, and helpful manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills and communication skills are necessary.
  • Work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest.
  • Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner.
