Mandarin Oriental is seeking a Product Manager for its global marketing division to maximize revenue growth across our gift card and merchandising lines. We are looking for an individual with strong commercial and marketing acumen, to evolve our product and marketing activation initiatives to drive our next phase of growth for our global gift card and merchandising business lines.  The Product manager will be comfortable using quantitative and qualitative analysis, consumer insights and critical thinking to optimize these revenue streams. They will be responsible for managing our existing program, partnerships and devising new opportunities to continuously improve and drive our P&L. The individual will have exceptional marketing, problem-solving and communications skills and is naturally creative, pragmatic, and collaborative. They look to drive top and bottom-line growth and seek to drive consensus across Mandarin Oriental as we define our next phase.


The Product Manager, Luxury Lifestyle & Merchandising will be responsible for:

  • Product planning: design clear product, revenue plans and roadmap to improve our gifting and merchandising value proposition to accelerate top line growth
  • Commercial delivery: oversee commercial delivery of product and revenue plans, including product performance and evaluation of results to plan
  • Marketing: liaise with internal marketing teams to build an effective marketing plan including digital, social, advertising and CRM
  • Strategic opportunities: initiate new opportunities to further enhance and augment our gifting and merchandising revenue streams to increase long term growth, including new product solutions, strategy partnerships and distribution approaches
  • Expert: build awareness around the organisation as the expert on gifting and merchandising, and help inspire followership amongst senior and mid-level executives on the need to continue to invest behind this area; maintain training materials for new hotels and colleagues
  • Reporting: analyse performance and provide accurate reporting, forecasting and annual budgeting
  • Customer Service: managing customer inquiries and business resolution, as well as bulk orders enquiries
  • Channel Distribution: optimize distribution through online, bulk purchase and on-property channels
  • Project planning: as we transition to a new technology vendor for Gift Cards, the candidate will work with on property and corporate teams to ensure that all tasks are delivered in a timely manner
  • Vendor Management: work with partner vendors and internal digital team to continuously improve customer purchase experience
  • Ambassador: Be an ambassador for Mandarin Oriental’s customer-first approach

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 5 years in a consumer product management or commercial marketing organisation with a demonstrable track record in delivering growth in new sectors/ products
  • A working knowledge of commercial and financial performance levers including exposure or experience overseeing a P&L
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Excell, pivot tables, charts and statistics
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills, with an ability to think outside of the box.
  • Comfort working in an agile and constantly evolving environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to set direction and execute
