About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Housekeeping Department in New York the Public Area Attendant is responsible for the upkeep and general cleanliness of all public areas including Lobbies, Banquet Rooms, Restaurants, Bar and Lounge, Elevators and all Public Restrooms both Front and Back of house.
The Public Area Attendant reports to the Director/Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
As Public Area Attendant , you will responsible for the following duties:
1. Lobby:
Maintain cleanliness of all lobby areas including floors and carpets, interior windows, mirrors, picture frames and counter tops according to demonstrated standard.
Wipe down all metal surfaces on the grand staircase according to standard.
Maintain cleanliness of all guest elevators, floors, carpets and all metal surfaces according to demonstrated standard.
Remove garbage from all garbage cans and discard in garbage room.
Clean the exterior of the building at regular intervals.
Mop floors when required.
Clean ground floor windows at regular intervals.
Dust all lobby objects on both ground floor and 35th floor.
2. Restaurant, Bar and Lounge:
Clean and vacuum all floors, both carpeted and hardwood.
Perform spot cleaning and shampooing of all carpets.
Wipe down all baseboards and walls.
Wipe down all furniture
Clean all interior windows and mirrors
Dust all mirror frames and picture frames
Clean all surfaces
Remove garbage from all garbage cans and discard in garbage room.
3. Elevators:
Spot clean and vacuum carpets regularly
Wipe down all metal surfaces
Wipe down all mirrors
Dust all high hats
4. C2 Level/35th /36th /3rd floor
· Mop and clean hallways on C2 and 35th and 36th floor elevator landings
· Maintain all back of the house colleague restrooms at the highest level of cleanliness.
· Keep all colleague restrooms well stocked at all times.
· Maintain a clean Housekeeping area
· Clean 35th floor public space furnishings when necessary.
· Clean 35th and 36th floor elevator landings.
· Staircase cleaning and clutter removal.
· Restocking and organizing of all Public Space storage closets.
5. Offices
· Dust, Mop, clean, vacuum and empty trash in all offices daily.
· Deep cleaning / Special project upon request

Pay and Benefits:
Pay $29.90 to $39.87 hourly commensurate with experience and IWA guidelines.
