The incumbent is responsible for delivering exquisite service to the guests of Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC.

Scope of Position

The Room Attendant is responsible for the efficiently conducting the Housekeeping administrative   duties.

Organizational Structure

The Room Attendant will report directly to the Assistant Manager / Assistant Director / Director of Housekeeping.

Duties and Responsibilities

Major responsibilities:

  • Support Company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission statement
  • Support Company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission
  • Statement Support Company’s philosophy and company culture through the use of Guiding Principles and D.E.L.I.G.H.T as part of ensuring Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement

Duties:

  • Ensure occupied and vacant guestrooms are cleaned and maintained up to the exact standard as demonstrated by Housekeeping supervisory staff during initial training
  • Remove all soiled linens and towels from room and keep in the linen bag on your cart/
  • Thoroughly clean guest bathrooms, bathroom walls, bathtub, and shower using the suggested chemicals.  After cleaning, dry all areas, fixtures and surfaces
  • Arrange all toiletries on a washcloth in occupied guestrooms according to the LQE standard
  • Replenish all amenities and terry items according to the LQE standard
  • Efficiently make bed to meet appearance standard as demonstrated
  • Make sure all clothing items in occupied guestrooms are folded neatly according to the LQE standard as demonstrated in the initial training
  • Upkeep of guestrooms and bathrooms to include all inside window and mirrors
  • Remove all room service trays from guestrooms and place them outside the room; then call for pick-up
  • Vacuum the guestroom carpet and wipe down furniture and baseboard according to standard in all assigned work areas
  • Double check cleanliness of completed work area and placement of amenities in each complete guestroom before moving on to the next task
  • Recognize and report all missing, damaged or sub standard furniture, fixtures and equipment
  • Able to complete daily assignments according to the union agreement contract
  • Able to push and pull 50 pounds to perform the job
  • Able to stand and walk for the entire shift
  • Ensure that all electronic devices(television, remote controls, stereo, telephone, lights) are working properly
  • Evaluate work assignment and prioritize work load according to guest requests
  • Enter Vacant/Clean Rooms in the REX system
  • Organize supply closet and work areas so that the Housekeeping Department operates, maintains and consistently meets efficient standards
  • Return all articles left by guest to Lost & Found
  • Adhere to Do not Disturb policy (LQE standard) , report your DNDs by 12pm
  • Sign out and sign in  the pager and key
  • Keep your truck and closet organized and clean
  • Maintain your vacuum cleaner

Requirements

  • Mandatory
    • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
    • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks. 
    • Must be a self-motivator
    • Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
    • Must have basic mathematical skills.
    • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
    • Must have organizational skills.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANALYSIS
