SALES MANAGER

Summary

The Sales Manager under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales and within the limits of hotel policies and procedures, effectively execute sales activities to maximize business opportunities in the defined market. Responsible for generating room business from all existing and potential Government and Embassies accounts, coordinating customer requirements with other departments to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and profitability for the hotel

The Role of the Sales Manager:

  • To achieve minimum
    • 6 sales call a day
    • 20 telemarketing calls per week (small accounts)
    • 4 entertainments per week
      • Active accounts
      •   Prospect accounts
      •   Suspect accounts
      •   Lost accounts
    • Ensure the appropriate effort are expended on the solicitation and development of:
    • Active accounts
    • Prospect accounts
    • Suspect accounts
    • Respond to all local enquiries within 6 hours and overseas enquiries within 24 hours
    • Effective follow-ups are to be conducted for such enquiries
      • To be fully aware of the potential, buying decisions of all-key accounts, competitive information on rates and volume to allow for specific strategic planning related to such accounts
      • To peruse daily arrival and reservations’ report, to be fully aware of clients’ presence in the hotel and make contacts where required
      • To be constantly aware of MOKUL occupancy and average rate
      • Monitor individual corporate accounts’ monthly production for both MNC and Non MNC account and attend monthly corporate account review meetings
      • Responsible for maintaining accurate production statistics on all corporate accounts
      • Keeps close communication with Catering & Event Services Managers on any development of the confirmed groups
      • Follow up with in house meeting organizers to maintain a good client relationship and to solicit future business
      • To conduct onsite inspections for potential clients
      • Fully understand the protocol in handling VIPs, Official Delegations and Royalties
      • Greet travel trade VIP guest or groups upon arrival and farewell them upon departure
      • Participate in familiarization visits and entertainment as and when required
      • Distribute seasonal gifts to major supporters
      • To supply any competitor’s activity information and current market trends to the DOSM/ DOS
      • Participate in overseas sales trip as and when required, complete all sales reports within 1 week of trip
      • Promote any packages and any promotion to all corporate accounts

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 2 years working experience, preferably in Administration or Sales in the hospitality industry or related field.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal, fluency in other languages is an added advantage.
  • Excellent selling skills.
  • Strong communication skills and meticulous.
  • Presentable, outgoing and mature personality.
  • Must have working rights in Malaysia.
