SECURITY OFFICER

Summary

The Security Officer will report to the Director of Security and forms part of the Security team who strive to maintain the safety and security of hotel guests, colleagues and their properties.

We are looking for individuals who have a strong customer service skills while providing respect and control as well as possessing a high level of observation.

The Role of the Security Officer

• Actively participates in the day-to-day security operations of the property to ensure  the safety and security of all guests, colleagues and property.
• Check and ensure that there are no undesirable persons wandering in the hotel lobby, F&B outlets and public areas.
• Check if there is any staff pilferage.
• Check cleanliness of the hotel perimeter, service lifts, locker rooms, passage way, etc.
• Control the traffic at the entrances.
• Register all vehicles parked at the hotel entrances and ensure these vehicles have legitimate business dealings with the hotel.
• Check employees’ belongings when they leave the hotel to ensure that no hotel’s items are being taken out.
• Patrol all floors and the parameters of the hotel.
• Register and issue I.D. stickers to all visitors, contractors or workers in the hotel.
• Check the belongings of all the contractors when they arrive and leave the property.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

• Minimum SPM qualifications, preferably with credits in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Minimum 1 year relevant job experience in similar capacity in hospitality or tourism related industry
• Experience in the armed forces would be an advantage
• Knowledgeable about customer service and guest contact skills
• Good in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Ability to display sound judgement and attention to detail
• Trained in Basic Fire Fighting
• Knowledgeable in First Aid/CPR
• Pleasant and honest with positive attitude
• Willing to work shift duties
