About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Food & Beverage Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Restaurant Host/Hostess is the first colleague to interact with arriving guests as they enter the restaurant. He/ she should ensure to provide proficient and professional Food & Beverage service to the guests by meeting and exceeding their expectations. The Restaurant Host/Hostess reports to the Restaurant Manager / Assistant Restaurant Manager.
As Restaurant Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Welcome the guests by greeting them as per the standards and respond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
Assist in sitting guests and provide occasional assistance to guests on menu items.
Make menu suggestions and practice acquired up selling skills to guests.
Follow instructions given by the Assistant Restaurant Managers, Restaurant Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, and perform any other reasonable duties as required by the division head from time to time.
As Restaurant Host/Hostess, we expect from you:
Able to work under minimal supervision
Diploma/ Degree in F&B Hospitality / Tourism Management or equivalent
Minimum 1 year working experience as Waiter/Waitress
Knowledgeable about customer service and guest contact skills
Knowledgeable about handling guest/ colleague complaints and dealing with guests
