About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, Sales Manager – International is responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with international consortia, luxury travel agencies, and global corporate accounts. The role focuses on driving high-value business from key feeder markets, enhancing brand visibility through strategic partnerships, and ensuring consistent achievement of revenue goals in alignment with the hotel's positioning in the global luxury hospitality market.

As Sales Manager - International, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Sales & Account Management

  • Manage and grow business from luxury consortia (e.g., Virtuoso, Signature, Traveller Made, AMEX FHR, Ensemble).
  • Cultivate strong relationships with international travel agencies, corporate travel planners, and wholesalers across key markets (e.g., North America, UK, Europe).
  • Develop strategic sales plans by market segment to drive room nights and revenue from international leisure and business travel.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, virtual meetings, and international roadshows/trade missions to promote the hotel.
  • Collaborate with Global Sales Offices (GSOs) and Mandarin Oriental regional sales teams to target and support key accounts.

Marketing & Brand Representation

  • Represent the hotel at international travel industry events, trade shows, consortia conferences, and client engagement activities.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing and PR teams to develop co-branded campaigns, promotional materials, and digital content for key partners.
  • Ensure Mandarin Oriental’s brand standards and storytelling are consistently communicated to international audiences.

Revenue & Reporting

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as defined in the Sales & Marketing budget.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive data to identify new business opportunities and optimize account performance.
  • Provide timely reporting and sales forecasts to management, including revenue tracking by segment and market.
  • Monitor ROI on sales activities and recommend improvements.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with Reservations, Revenue, and Front Office teams to ensure seamless guest experience for VIP and consortia clients.
  • Liaise with Meetings & Events team on group opportunities and event leads.
  • Share feedback from international partners to continuously improve offerings and guest experience.
