About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Shenzhen within the Food & Beverage Division in Shenzhen, Assistant Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for assisting Director of Food & Beverage in administering the operations of all Food & Beverage venues, include all the restaurants, banquet, Food & Beverage sales, event , in such a manner as to maximize revenues and minimize costs with particular attention to complete guest satisfaction, associate welfare, and profit margins. The Assistant Director of Food & Beverage reports to the Director of Food & Beverage.

As Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Support company's vision and company culture through the use of Pillars, Legendary Quality Experiences as a daily basis to ensure guest satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement
• Assist Director of F&B in the F&B Department daily operations
• Plan the activities, promotions, and menu implementations according to the annual marketing plan
• Respond to guest inquiries or concerns within 24 hours in what is deemed the appropriate manner
• Assist Director of F&B in conducting annual performance appraisals for subordinate managers in a professional and timely manner
• Participate in the appraisal of subordinate managers and use effective coaching and counselling for positive improvement
• Support subordinate managers with an effective training program to make them aware of the expectations and responsibilities that their positions entail

As Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, we expect from you: 

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in similar capacity
• Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with established connections in key markets
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Ability to function well under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is required
