As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Develops excellent relationships with Front Office, Engineering, Food and Beverage, and other department to ensure that the best interests of the hotel guests are served at all the time. This will include working under pressure to deliver targets and goals, and servicing and turn down of rooms without compromising quality
- Ensuring that as leader of the Housekeeping department, all colleagues are highly motivated and passionate in their daily job and ultimately delivering exceptional guest service
- Assists the sub-department heads to establish and then achieve departmental objectives and desired standards of cleanliness and services in rooms, public areas, restaurants, staff areas and back of the house
- Understands policies and procedures set by management and MOHG and implement the same
- Keeps records on payroll, labor cost, sick leave, appraisals inventories, preventive maintenance rooms, inspection rooms and renovations
- Inspects public areas and rooms to ensure high standard are being met in all areas
- Keeps a good control on expenses including guest amenities, cleaning supplies, laundry, decoration, linen and uniforms
- Inspects the quality of work performed by outside contractors
- To provide a seamless, efficient and friendly service at all times
- To ensure a well cleaned, comfortable, well maintained and welcoming environment
- To use any opportunity to delight and satisfy guests’ needs
- To make sure all guest information is accurately record in guest history profile
- Assist the Executive Housekeeper in the operation of the Housekeeping Department
- Responsible for the Housekeeping Department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper
- Communicates with all other departments effectively
- Ensure all plants and floral displays in the rooms and public areas are of high standards
- Plan special cleaning assignment and ensures they are carried out to plan.
- Make periodic inspection of all areas to check on Housekeeping standards and issues necessary steps to correct short comings
- Reviews and acts on guest comments on services provides by Housekeeping department
- Reports any irregularities and gives suggestions for improvement to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Assist to conduct monthly meeting to Housekeeping Colleagues
- To facilitate a motivating atmosphere by communication effectively
- To give feedback in a positive and encouraging manner
- To communicate accurate information actively and in a timely manner to colleagues
- To be an active team player
- To provide on-the-job and classroom training to new members of the team
- Handle any guest complaints, and report them to Executive Housekeeper
- Ensure proper handling of Lost and Found
As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, we expect from you:
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Rooms Management is preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a 5-star hotel environment, including 2 years in Housekeeping Division
