About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Security Department in Dubai, the Assistant Security Manager assists in carrying out operational and administrative duties and is overall responsible for subordinate’s performance. Assistant Manager ensures conformity of work standards and consistency in carrying out departmental operations and other security and safety related matters. Assistant Security Manager reports to the Security Manager.

As an Assistant Security Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Oversees subordinates in training, performance monitoring, Lost & Found procedures, and ensures timely reporting and resolution of security-related matters.
• Maintains and ensures the proper functioning of security systems and equipment such as CCTV, alarm systems, radios, and key management systems.
• Conducts investigations, prepares reports, safeguards company assets, and communicates security intelligence and updates to the team.
• Performs daily checks of hotel premises and security systems, reviews patrol and incident reports, manages supplies, and ensures SOPs and directives are communicated effectively.
• Periodically reviews and tests SOPs, security systems, and departmental files, while ensuring all administrative and operational standards are upheld.
• Coordinates safety and security training programs, conducts audits, handles special investigations, prepares reports for management, and builds cost-effective staffing rosters.

As an Assistant Security Manager, we expect from you: 

• Holds SIRA-approved Security Manager’s certification and license, with a degree or diploma in a relevant field; background in police or military is preferred.
• Has a minimum of 5 years of security experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or director-level role.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, including the ability to lead diverse teams and interact effectively with peers and superiors.
• Proficient in firefighting equipment, CCTV operations, investigations, crisis management, and emergency handling.
• Certified in First Aid and CPR, with solid knowledge of evacuation procedures and emergency response.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
