About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Finance department in Boston, Massachusetts, the Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for financial reports, invoices, and accounts receivable for the Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Boston. The Assistant Accounting Manager reports to the Assistant Director and Director of Finance.

As Assistant Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for residence owners and master association
  • Review and ensure accuracy of monthly accounts receivable reports, monitoring collections and identifying outstanding balances to safeguard cash flow and maintain the financial health of the association
  • Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely issuance of monthly invoices to residence owners and tenants
  • Perform monthly General Ledger reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate annual internal and external audit processes
  • Assist with financial presentation to residence owners and board members of condominium association
  • Assist with the preparation of yearly Budget for residences
  • Process and coordinate payments from residence accounts to hotel operations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate the record and reconciliation of bank accounts, balance sheets, and fixed asset accounting operations
  • Assist preparing accruals for insurance, utilities and other residences operations.
  • Provide information and assistance other staff members with regard to accounting functions
  • Other duties as assigned by management

    As Assistant Accounting Manager, we expect from you: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Management
    • 2-5 years of experience in a hospitality accounting operation
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Strong time management and prioritization skills
    • Effective management, leadership, organizational, and communication skills
    • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language

    Desirable:

    • Familiarity with or previous work experience in residential accounting

    Compensation

    The annual salary range for this position is $75,000-85,000.
