Based at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid, and reporting to the Banqueting Manager, the Banqueting Supervisor will oversee the daily execution of events and banquet functions, ensuring flawless service delivery in accordance with Mandarin Oriental standards.
This position plays a crucial role in coordinating between different departments, leading the banqueting team, and ensuring that each event—be it a corporate meeting, wedding, or private dinner—is executed to perfection.
Support the Banqueting Manager in the day-to-day running of banquet operations.
Supervise and guide the Banqueting team before, during, and after events to ensure seamless service.
Liaise with the kitchen, sales & events, and other F&B outlets to ensure guest expectations are met and exceeded.
Ensure that all functions are set up according to guest specifications and hotel standards.
Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues or last-minute changes with professionalism and efficiency.
Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment and materials.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Monitor staff performance and assist with training and development.
Assist in controlling costs, managing inventories, and maintaining profitability.
Actively participate in the planning and execution of high-profile or VIP events.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory role within banqueting or events in a luxury hotel environment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a diverse team.
High attention to detail and a passion for service excellence.
Fluency in Spanish and English; other languages are a plus.
Flexibility to work variable schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
