About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, the Bartender is responsible for crafting and serving high-quality beverages, delivering exceptional service, and maintaining the bar area in pristine condition. The Bartender reports to the Bar Supervisor and Restaurant Manager.

As Bartender, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Preparing high-quality cocktails and other beverages according to our recipes and standards

  • Understanding the outlet's concept and beverage offerings and confidently explaining them to guests.

  • Advising and assisting guests with drink selection and food pairings

  • Assisting the Head of Bars in creating new cocktails, supporting menu promotions, and keeping product knowledge up to date. 

  • Ensuring smooth bar operations, including preparation and cleanup

  • Managing inventory, including ordering bar supplies and ingredients

  • Handling POS operations, processing orders, and supporting cashiering tasks as needed. 

  • Delivering personalized, friendly service, observing guest needs, creating WOW moments, and ensuring satisfaction from arrival to departure in line with MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs) and MOQA standards.

  • Adhering to all hygiene standards and legal regulations in the bar area

  • Working closely with the service and kitchen teams to ensure a seamless guest experience

  • Assisting with onboarding and training new team members

  • Contributing to a hospitable and professional atmosphere

As Bartender, we expect from you:

  • Completed training in upscale hospitality or gastronomy, ideally with 2–3 years of experience in a similar role

  • High flexibility and resilience – weekend and holiday shifts are part of the job

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interactions with guests and team members

  • Confidence and a well-groomed, professional appearance

  • Passion for exceptional service and a keen sense of trends in the hospitality industry

  • Excellent knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage

  • Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
