About the Job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, within the Ottolenghi Department, the Chef de Rang is responsible for contributing, on a daily basis, to the smooth running of their department in accordance with Mandarin Oriental guidelines and standards and local customs. The Chef de Rang reports directly to the In Room Dining Manager.
As Chef de Rang, you will be responsible for:
Be thoroughly familiar with all room service menus and menus.
Set up for service.
Check that all dishes served are in accordance with the order.
Check the guest's room number when serving and memorise their name so that you can address them easily.
Clear away VIP amenities from the previous day and VIP amenities for no-shows.
Place the VIP amenities for the day in the rooms, following the numbers and instructions given by the Manager.
Welcome and serve guests in accordance with LQE and Forbes standards and in line with the expectations of the Mandarin Oriental Group and Swiss Deluxe.
Handle guest complaints in accordance with LQE procedures and refer complaints and all guest comments to management.

As Chef de Rang we expect from you:
A passion for service and attention to detail.
Previous service experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment preferred.
Team spirit, curiosity, and a desire to learn and grow.
Good communication skills and a flexible attitude.
Fluency in English and French, another European language is a plus.
A valid Swiss work permit or EU passport.
