Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich is located in the heart of the Old Town, in the main business center, close to the city's leisure attractions and just a short walk from the shores of Lake Zurich. The Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich has 80 guest rooms and suites and three dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a lobby lounge. The hotel is ideal for meetings and events with its newly renovated event facilities, including a grand historic ballroom.

 

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department, the Chef de Rang is responsible for assisting the Savoy Brasserie & Bar, Fine Dining, In Room Dining or Banquet team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The Chef de Rang reports to the Outlet Manager.

 

As Chef de Rang, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Professional advice and customer care for our guests 
  • Professional serving of food and drinks 
  • Complying with our high-quality standards 
  • Preparing the required mise-en-place, covering and cleaning work in the restaurant area
  • Supporting your superiors in their daily tasks 
  • Registering all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting 
  • Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events
  • Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

 

As Chef de Rang, we expect from you:

  • A completed vocational training in the hotel or catering industry
  • First computer skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous  
  • Communicative skills - guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback
  • Open-mindedness and teamwork skills 
  • Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position will include weekend and holiday shifts
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English skills. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
  • Successful applicants must have the right to work in Switzerland
