About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Cafe Causette Kitchen in Hong Kong, the Commis I is responsible for to assist the Chef de Partie with the daily working requirements and the smooth running of the operation and displayed as mandated by the Sous Chef in order to acquire maximum customer satisfaction and profitability. The Commis I reports directly to the Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef.

As Commis I, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Responsible for mise-en-place in kitchen

• Maintain proper quantity of par stock for mis-en-place

• Keep the specific kitchen areas clean and hygienic

• Check refrigerators, utensils and kitchen equipment on cleanliness

• Adhere to all the standards of food handling, production, preparation, portioning and presentation

• To be aware of and adhere to company policies and statutory requirements with regards to health and safety, sanitation, fire procedures and HACCP

• Assist the senior chefs in preparation and production of all food items

As Commis I, we expect from you:

• 1-2 year relevant experience in similar capacit

• Self-motivated and responsible

• Independent and able to work under pressure

• Immediate available preferred
