The Role

The PR / Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s public relations and communications strategy during the pre-opening phase and beyond. This role ensures Mandarin Oriental Makati builds a strong brand presence, maintains positive media relations, and delivers consistent messaging aligned with Mandarin Oriental’s global standards. The position requires creativity, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to enhance the hotel’s reputation and visibility in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the hotel’s PR and communications strategy in alignment with Mandarin Oriental brand guidelines.
  • Manage media relations, including press releases, media kits, and handling inquiries.
  • Coordinate pre-opening PR campaigns to generate awareness and anticipation.
  • Oversee internal communications to ensure consistent messaging across departments.
  • Collaborate with corporate communications and marketing teams to ensure brand alignment.
  • Organize press events, media familiarization trips, and promotional activities.
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare regular reports on PR performance.
  • Manage crisis communications and ensure timely, professional responses.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media, influencers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in PR or communications, preferably within luxury hospitality.
  • Proven track record of managing successful PR campaigns and media relations.
  • Strong understanding of the Philippine media landscape and regional market.
