About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Housekeeping Department in Zurich, the Laundry/ Public Area Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining public areas and for maintaining the laundry. The Laundry/ Public Area Attendant reports to the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Housekeeping Manager.

As Laundry/ Public Area Attendant, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Maintain cleanliness in storage rooms, back-of-house, and public areas

• Sort, clean, iron, and package guest and hotel laundry to the highest standard

• Receive, check, and distribute guest laundry and staff uniforms with accuracy and care

• Manage and issue staff uniforms; perform regular inventory checks

• Operate all laundry equipment safely and in accordance with local regulations

• Perform minor sewing and embroidery tasks as needed

• Ensure machinery is well maintained and laundry areas are clean and orderly

• Support onboarding and training of new team members and apprentices

• Collect guest preferences and respond to requests professionally

• Report maintenance issues and forward lost & found items to housekeeping

• Collaborate with other housekeeping sections during peak periods

• Carry out any other duties as assigned by supervisors or management
