Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is seeking a Director of Marketing & Brand Wellbeing to join our Group Spa & Wellbeing team.

You will partner closely with Group Wellbeing, Commercial and Brand Marketing to elevate our global wellness brand across properties. This strategic role shapes the vision and execution of wellness marketing worldwide, ensuring alignment with Mandarin Oriental’s luxury positioning and guest experience.

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Corporate office in Hong Kong (preferred) or London within the Group Spa & Wellbeing Department, the Director of Marketing & Brand Wellbeing is responsible for shaping and executing the global wellness brand vision and driving customer engagement and loyalty through innovative marketing initiatives. The Director of Marketing & Brand Wellbeing reports to the Group Director of Spa & Wellbeing, with a working line to the VP Commercial and VP Brand Marketing.

As Director of Marketing & Brand Wellbeing, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive wellness marketing strategies aligned to Group brand objectives that drive measurable business growth.

  • Lead multi-channel campaigns (digital, social, experiential, partnerships) to promote wellness programs and spa services globally.

  • Collaborate with property-level marketing and operations teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and guest experience across all locations.

  • Identify emerging wellness trends and integrate them into product development and marketing initiatives to maintain market leadership.

  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with wellness influencers, industry experts, and luxury lifestyle brands to enhance visibility and credibility.

  • Oversee content marketing plans, including thought leadership, wellness storytelling, and educational materials.

  • Analyse marketing performance metrics and guest feedback to optimise campaigns and inform future strategies.

  • Manage the global wellness marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximised ROI.

  • Champion internal wellness culture by collaborating with HR and Learning & Development to promote colleague wellbeing initiatives.

  • Demonstrate strong project and program management leadership to ensure timely delivery and seamless execution of spa and wellness initiatives.

  • Lead development of innovative spa and wellness concepts, translating vision into actionable plans and compelling concept decks.

  • Collaborate closely with regional and property commercial planning teams to maximise business performance and guest satisfaction.

  • Provide effective oversight from both regional and local perspectives, supporting property teams while maintaining consistency with group objectives.

Success measures (financial & non-financial)

Performance will be assessed using a mix of quantitative and qualitative indicators, including:

  • Financial: Revenue growth attributable to marketing initiatives; ROI of campaigns; CPA; CLV; sales growth from new wellness products and innovations.

  • Non-financial: Brand awareness and consideration uplift; customer engagement metrics; qualified lead generation; event attendance and satisfaction scores; email open and click-through rates.

  • Qualitative: Customer satisfaction with wellness experiences; content quality and effectiveness of marketing materials.

We expect from you

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Skills:

  • 8+ years’ experience in brand marketing, ideally within wellness, spa, or luxury hospitality.

  • Proven track record developing and executing global marketing strategies for wellness or lifestyle brands.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, and content creation.

  • Ability to interpret market research, consumer insights, and performance analytics to inform decisions.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external agency relationships.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication; capable of presenting to executive leadership and external partners.

  • International experience and cultural sensitivity; able to adapt strategies to diverse audiences.

Communication requirements

  • Internal: Communicate up to GLT & EXCO; with Group Director of Wellbeing and VP Wellbeing; and down to Hotel Managers and Spa & Wellness Directors.

  • External – B2C: Ensure consumer-facing communications align with brand values; maintain robust social media presence focused on wellbeing; regularly update website with engaging content; create consumer newsletters on new products, services, and wellbeing insights.

  • External – B2B: Communicate with business partners, investors, and community organisations through tailored updates; develop and maintain relationships in the wellbeing sector; prepare and distribute press releases on partnerships and initiatives for industry stakeholders.
