Geographical Responsibilities / Scope:

Global

Position Objective:

Ensure smooth transition of opening hotels/ takeovers and assistance to hotels with performance challenges, be instrumental in maintaining the control environment

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review feasibility projections

  • Assist hotels with pre-opening budgets/ cashflows

  • Assist in opening bank account and obtaining funding from owners where applicable

  • Work with group treasury to ensure MOHG has correct control of bank account

  • Due diligence for takeover hotels

  • Appraisal and action plan for existing finance teams in takeover hotels

  • Assessment and approval of various ROI and financial projections

  • Provide guidance and onsite assistance for Hotels with performance issues from time to time

  • Work with internal controls to assist in identifying and remedy for control deficiencies

  • From time to time, assist hotels with csaq compliance

  • Assist hotels regarding preparation and completion of GARM audits

  • Advice/ mentor for DOF community

  • On-boarding/ buddy for new DOF’s

  • Assist in resolving accounting issues as necessary.

  • Active on-site support for challenged hotels with no DOF/ finance dept issues when required

  • Remote support across the portfolio on finance issues

Communication Requirements:

Internal/ External

  • Interact and communicate effectively with key stakeholders to clearly articulate issues and solutions.

  • Internal: CFO, Operations Finance Team, Hotel DOF’s, Regional Revenue. P&C, IT, Internal Controls

  • External: Outsourcing service providers, external audit, GARM Audit

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Candidate needs to have total ownership and self-sufficiency, with commensurate experience and character

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or relevant field

  • At least 10 years’ experience, of which 5 years experiences in the leadership roles of hospitality Finance industry, preferably in the role of Director of Finance or equivalent

  • Expert knowledge of hotel operating procedures and systems including hotel finance systems, procurement system, property management system and POS system
