About the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur / within the Sales & Commerce Department in Kuala Lumpur, the Director of Revenue Management is responsible for maximizing revenue and profit associated primarily with rooms, but also function space or total hotel revenue, e.g. Spa, as required. Position is accountable for all transient, group and catering revenue maximization strategies, pricing, channel distribution, and positioning. Work closely with the Director of Commercial Strategy to ensure the hotel’s strategic business direction by balancing financial objectives, managing the channels and guiding the revenue strategies of the hotel. The Director of Revenue reports to the Director of Commercial Strategy.
As Director of Revenue Management, you will be responsible for the following duties:
• Together with the Director of Marketing Communications and Director of Commercial Strategy, prepares the hotel’s annual Budget and develops, implements and adapts the Annual Marketing Plan as market conditions fluctuate
• Develops the revenue strategy for the hotel in alignment with MOHG’s brand philosophies
• Provides strategic direction as it relates to pricing, inventory, channel management and distribution of all market segments in accordance to MOHG’s brand guidelines
• Leads efforts to coordinate these strategies between Corporate Revenue Management and on-property Leadership and ensures they are implemented and modified as market conditions fluctuate
• Identifies future revenue opportunities and effectively communicates strategies to the sales organization and marketing colleagues
• Works with Marketing Communications to develop the strategic proposition of Marketing offers, online and offline, as well as market/country and demand specific focus areas
• With the Director of Commercial Strategy, evaluates effectiveness of property participation in channels and determines proper spend deployment in these segments and channels
• Proactively analyzes and communicates business trends and booking pace in comparison to the market, Last Year, Forecast and Budget
• Analyzes competitive sets, price positioning, seasonality, mix and displacement on a weekly basis
As Director of Revenue Management, we expect from you:
• Minimum 5-10 years working experience Director of Revenue Management experience with MOHG or another hotel company
• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or Hotel Management
• Previous experience is essential in similar department or capacity
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ensures hotel’s third-party contract negotiations conform to MOHG’s Revenue & Distribution Management guidelines
• Ensures hotel’s commercial strategies conform to MOHG brand philosophies and goals
• Strong creativity and leadership skills
