About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, London within the Engineering department the Duty Engineer is responsible in ensuring that all facilities within the premises are safe and in working order while on duty.

As Duty Engineer, you will responsible for the following duties:

• To be responsible for the assigned maintenance tasks and checks of the physical plant, engineering facilities, controls, fire safety systems, the interior and exterior of the entire building and other items pertaining to the role.
• To motivate other Duty Engineers and Technicians by positive attitude, promote professionalism, adhere to policies and procedures as trained.
• To perform the assigned inspections, repairs, and maintenance for all building components.
• To follow as trained all the fire and life safety procedures and standards.
• To report to the Chief Engineer and/or Engineering Manager immediately any unusual events that occur, whether it be in respect of the engineering operation, physical plant, or H&S matters.
• To provide input/feedback following walk arounds and on specific work challenges.
• To assist in co-ordinating handyman workloads.
• To assist contractors for planned preventive maintenance programs and be the liaison person from engineering when needed.
