About the job  

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong corporate office, we are seeking a Financial Controller who will be responsible for Gift Cards & our Fans of M.O. program.

Gift Card Operation (25%)

• Supervise General Accountant to ensure daily tasks of Gift Card operation are accomplished in a timely manner; reconciliation of liability and cash with sign off and support hotel, customer service, and third party correspondence.

• Reviews and approves General Account’s monthly preparation of hotel and trade payables for final approval by Group Financial Controller.

• Analyses breakage, uplift and foreign currency reconciliation during the year to include balance sheet reconciliations.

Fans of MO operation (25%)

• Responsible for monthly preparation and submission of Fans of MO accounting treatment for approval by Director of Operations Finance.

• Responsible for the commercial finance and collaborate with hotels to provide financial insight.

Group reporting (20%)

• Responsible for the book of Companies relating to China WFOE and other corporate companies in Asia and EMEA.

• Support the compilation of the annual report for interim and annual results

Financial reporting (20%)

• Prepares month end financial package for submission to Group finance for consolidation to include P&L and BS summary, position to Budget and Cash position.

• Manages annual preparation of Gift Card budget, tax review and preparation of filings, write and maintain Gift Card P&P and SOP, maintain internal controls per Group P&P, and interface with Tax and Legal and other corporate colleagues on Gift Card company related initiatives. 

Annual audit (5%) Liaise with auditors for annual audit for the Group and individual entities.

Ad hoc projects as requested by supervisor (5%) e.g. assessment of impact of new accounting standards, review of Group Structure for expansion.

Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.
