About the job

Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Event Sales Executive is responsible for generate rooms business from existing and potential accounts, coordinating customer requirements with other departments in order to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and profitability for the hotel. The Event Sales Executive reports to the Director of Sales.

As Event Sales Executive, you will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Sales Development & Account Management

  • Seek and contact new potential commercial accounts through direct enquiries, sales leads, and sales blitz follow-up.

  • Responsible for room night and revenue production from allocated accounts.

  • Monitor monthly production of assigned corporate accounts and attend review meetings.

  • Update Fidelio/Delphi Sales and Catering account and contact profiles to maintain accurate corporate account records.

  • Follow up on all sales leads.

  • Prepare weekly sales call reports.

2. Client Relations & Business Generation

  • Entertain executives and secretaries of potential corporate companies and in-house guests to secure future business.

  • Participate in familiarisation visits and entertainment activities as required.

  • Conduct on-site inspections for potential clients.

  • Distribute seasonal gifts to clients.

3. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor current market trends and provide competitor activity information to the Director of Marketing (DOM).

  • Participate in overseas sales trips and complete all sales reports within one week of return.

4. Meetings, Projects & General Duties

  • Attend daily sales briefings, weekly sales meetings, and bi-weekly business development meetings.

  • Participate in projects as assigned by the direct superior.

  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head.

As Event Sales Executive, we expect from you:

Educational level

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or relevant Education

Work experience

  • Minimum 2 years working experience

Personal qualities

  • Knowledge of Food and Beverage

  • Mature

  • Initiative

  • Presentable

  • Outgoing

  • Fluent in English and in local language
