About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven Executive Housekeeper to lead the Housekeeping function of our luxury mountain resort, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort in line with Mandarin Oriental brand expectations.
This role is pivotal in the pre-opening phase and will be instrumental in setting up all housekeeping operations, processes, and team culture ahead of the hotel launch.

Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening & Setup
- Lead the full setup of the Housekeeping department, including SOPs, service standards, and operational workflows.
- Define and implement room set-up standards, public area maintenance protocols, and back-of-house organization.
- Oversee selection and procurement of linen, uniforms, guest amenities, and equipment in line with brand standards and operational needs.
- Recruit, onboard, and train the housekeeping team, ensuring alignment with Mandarin Oriental culture and service philosophy.
Operations Management
- Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards at all times.
- Manage daily housekeeping operations, including room assignments, inspections, and service delivery.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office, Engineering, and F&B to ensure seamless guest experience.
Seasonal & Peak Operations
- Plan and execute efficient departmental operations aligned with seasonal opening and closing cycles.
- Manage high-volume periods (winter and summer peaks), ensuring service excellence under pressure.
- Support rapid ramp-up and ramp-down of the team in line with business levels.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, payroll forecasts, and cost control strategies.
- Monitor expenses related to linen, cleaning supplies, and external services, ensuring efficiency and compliance with budget.
- Optimize inventory levels (par stock) for linen and operating supplies.
People Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse housekeeping team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Ensure proper staffing levels, scheduling, and productivity management.
- Promote colleague engagement initiatives and support a positive working environment.
Supplier & Quality Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, including laundry providers and cleaning contractors.
- Monitor quality standards and address issues related to linen, uniforms, and outsourced services.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, hygiene standards, and company policies.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, responsible sourcing, and efficient use of resources.
Candidate Profile
Requirements
- Proven experience as Executive Housekeeper or senior housekeeping leader within luxury hotels or resorts.
- Strong experience in pre-opening environments is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of housekeeping operations, budgeting, and cost control.
- Experience managing large, multicultural teams, ideally in seasonal or resort environments.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Fluency in English is required; Italian is strongly preferred.
