About the job
The Finance Supervisor – Income Audit & Credit is responsible for overseeing the daily income audit process and credit control activities to ensure that all hotel revenue is accurately recorded, properly supported, and collected in a timely manner.
The position will supervise the verification of daily revenue transactions, reconciliation of income from all hotel outlets and systems, monitoring of accounts receivable and credit accounts, and follow-up of outstanding balances. The role will also ensure compliance with hotel policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
As Finance Supervisor – Income Audit & Credit you will be responsible for the following duties:
Income Audit
- Supervise and perform daily income audit activities to ensure all hotel revenue is accurately recorded and reported.
- Review and verify daily revenue reports from Front Office, Food & Beverage, Spa, Recreation, and other revenue-generating departments.
- Reconcile revenue between the Property Management System (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, payment systems, and General Ledger.
- Verify room revenue, package revenue, discounts, rebates, complimentary rooms, allowances, voids, refunds, and adjustments.
- Review daily cash, credit card, bank transfer, online payment, and other payment transactions.
- Ensure all revenue transactions are supported by proper documentation and approvals.
- Investigate discrepancies and follow up with the respective departments for clarification and corrective action.
- Prepare and review daily revenue and income audit reports.
- Ensure proper recording of city ledger and other non-cash transactions.
- Monitor and verify room rate, package, and promotional transactions against approved rates and policies.
- Ensure adequate controls are in place to minimise revenue leakage and financial irregularities.
2. Credit Control & Accounts Receivable
- Supervise the monitoring of hotel credit accounts and outstanding receivables.
- Review the Accounts Receivable ageing report and identify overdue accounts requiring follow-up.
- Follow up with departments and customers/companies regarding outstanding balances and payment status.
- Monitor credit limits and payment terms for corporate, travel agent, wholesaler, and other credit accounts.
- Ensure invoices, statements, supporting documents, and credit notes are accurate and issued on a timely basis.
- Review and follow up on disputed invoices and unidentified payments.
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation for credit approvals and account opening.
- Escalate long-outstanding or high-risk accounts to the Finance Manager for further action.
- Support collection activities and ensure outstanding balances are followed up according to the hotel's credit policy.
- Assist with month-end reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and related balance sheet accounts.
3. Month-End Closing
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to income audit and accounts receivable.
- Ensure all revenue transactions are posted accurately and within the correct accounting period.
- Review outstanding reconciling items and ensure timely resolution.
- Assist in preparing monthly revenue and receivable reports.
- Support the Finance Manager in reviewing revenue and credit control results.
4. Internal Control & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hotel financial policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.
- Identify weaknesses in revenue and credit processes and recommend improvements.
- Maintain proper audit trails and supporting documentation for financial transactions.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of financial and guest information.
- Report any suspected irregularities, fraud, or control weaknesses to the appropriate management.
5. Team Supervision
- Supervise and guide Income Audit / Accounts Receivable team members in their daily duties.
- Allocate work and ensure tasks are completed accurately and within deadlines.
- Review the team's work and provide guidance on accounting and operational issues.
- Train and coach team members on income audit, credit control, systems, and hotel financial procedures.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to the Finance Manager.
- Ensure adequate departmental coverage and effective handover of daily tasks.
6. Systems & Process Improvement
- Ensure accurate use of PMS, POS, accounting, payment, and other relevant financial systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve income audit and credit control processes.
- Participate in system testing, implementation, and process improvement projects when required.
- Ensure proper controls are maintained when new systems or processes are introduced.
As Finance Supervisor – Income Audit & Credit, we expect from you:
Educational Background
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in hotel finance, income audit, accounts receivable, or credit control.
- Previous supervisory experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hotel revenue operations and financial controls..
Skills
- Experience with PMS, POS, and accounting systems is an advantage.
- Good understanding of Accounts Receivable, income audit, reconciliation, and credit control processes.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
